Welsh weaving awoke my consciousness of pattern and textiles very early on. These “tapestry” patterns were used for blankets, upholstery, placemats and even 60s suits with boxy jackets, pencil skirts, jumpers, capes and coats.

Roger Vivier made the most beautiful shoes from the 1930’s to the 1990’s. They were artistic, elegant, sculptural, whimsical and happy works of art that are truly timeless.

Before blogs and self publishing, there was the fanzine, and one of the best in the fashion world was i-D Magazine. I-d was literally cut and pasted together and was the bible of street style in the UK. The winking cover girl was its signature, and the logo itself tipped on its side resembles a winking face. I-D is still going today, but you should page through old issues for a lesson on 80’s style. Via: i-D
